HarpManSam pointed to a blog article in which he (I think it was he)
pointed out:
"I belong to an organization called the Society for the Preservation and
Advancement of the Harmonica, or SPAH, <http://www.spah.org/> which I
think is an unfortunate acronym because it sounds like the name of an
alien life form from a Star Trek movie, or the sound someone might make
after taking a slug out of a can of beer that has been used as an ash tray."
I've been much too active on Harp-L lately so I've been trying to shut
up. But Sam really does have a point here. With all due respect to the
founders, SPAH should have a contest to rename itself, maybe here on
Harp-L. In the spirit of marketing the organization it would be
preferable to have it named something that you don't have to s_p_e_l_l
o_u_t, each and every time you try explain what the organization is. A
meaningful acronym or abbreviation would be easier to sell.
"HarmonicasRUs" is probably taken, though... ;-)
